About me: Things I Like and Dislike
This week we've been asked to write about ourselves! What we like and what we dislike, our hubbies and interests but this is all basically to put into our future promotional websites. Sharing a little bit about myself may add some personality to it. So, here we go!
Hobbies
I'm a cook. I cook even when I'm not hungry. Cooking is one of the only things that help me open up my mind and get creative. I find that adding some spice here and there to a meal or conjuring up my own recipes can be therapeutic.
Exercising! This isn't just a hobby for me, it's a way of life. I get up, brush my teeth, eat my breakfast and go out for a jog. It's more of a routine than a hobby but I still think of it as something I enjoy and do on the side. Yoga is also another favourite of mine! When I need to think or relax in order to get some sleep, I turn to yoga (Minus the humming sounds)!
Working at my local church/charity! I'm the graphic designer for a charity known as J.K.C. They work hard to provide love and care for the community (especially the youth) as well spreading awareness about their morals and beliefs. Ever since moving to Bristol, I've dedicated most of my weekends to working for this organisation in order to create their marketing material as well as event decorations. Here's a few bits that I've made for them this year.
Likes
I have an insane addiction to music. Not just any kind of music but the kind that you'd only hear in depressing, low budget indie films. Electronic Hipster sort of stuff. I love the sound of ghostly, miserable female vocals over the heavy, harsh beat of electronic instrumental. It's definitely one of my favourite musical genres, especially when I need to think or relax. Here's an example of the sort music I listen to on the regular: Ritual Unions by Little Dragon (Tensnake Remix).
I love new age hip hop as well. The new stuff isn't exactly everyone's cup of tea but I'm really loving the sound of some Artists such as Odd Future and Kid Cudi. Here an example of one of my favourite new age hip hop song: She - Tyler the Creator
I'm an avid Magazine reader! I especially love the look of them as well the shallow and materialistic content that lies within. Magazines aren't exactly the best source of literature but I spent most of my adolescence flicking through the glossy pages because I was addicted. I've learnt absolutely nothing but how to lose weight, keep a man or look pretty from every magazine I've read. Nothing deep or meaningful. But still, I find the need to pick up a copy of Elle or Glamour from the news stand every now and then.
Blogs are also another favourite pass time of mine. Fashion and Health Blogs mostly. I enjoy reading about nutrition, food and recipes. But every now and then, I browse through fashion blog and top up on my make up, hair and fashion knowledge.
Interests
I collect Jewellery and I don't wear them. I have so many jewellery boxes and necklace hangers, but they're never enough because my pointless collection is ever growing!
Strangely enough, I also collect ribbons. I know a lot of people who collect stamps, shoes, make-up and other normal bits and bobs but I collect ribbons. It started when I first moved to England and sort of progressed as I got older. I used to collect them to use as hair accessories. But now that I've outgrown putting bows in my hair, I just collect ribbons and store them.
This is all the information we were asked to give. We were also asked to bring in a folder of things about us if we could be I don't think I could fit any of the information about into a basic folder.
